CHINA UPDATES OVERSEAS INVESTMENT

BEIJING, OCTOBER 23 /SRNA/ – China has revised its administrative measures governing overseas investment, aiming to provide stronger institutional protection for its development and security.

The measures, issued by the National Development and Reform Commission, China's main economic planning body, will take effect on December 1, replacing the existing rules adopted in 2017.

The commission said the revision was prompted by the rapid growth of Chinese overseas investment and rising risks in an increasingly complex global environment.

The revised measures further underscore the key role played by various entities in overseas investment, including domestic companies, individuals and other organizations, China Media Group reported.

In addition, reporting systems for major adverse events and large-scale overseas reinvestment projects have been improved to better protect investors' rights and interests and help them manage risks abroad.
