BRČKO, APRIL 15 /SRNA/ - General Ratko Mladić, commander of the Republika Srpska Army, will have his historical role written in time, while in The Hague he is exposed to humiliating conditions that have seriously deteriorated his health, SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said.
Following reports that General Mladić suffered a mild stroke and is in very serious condition, Dodik said that extremely humiliating conditions are being applied to the Serb general, including a lack of adequate medical treatment.
He reminded that Radoslav Brđanin was transferred from The Hague and died shortly after returning to Banja Luka, noting that local doctors later concluded he had been neglected and had not received timely medical therapy.
“That is how they treat everyone there,” Dodik told reporters in Brčko.
Dodik assessed that the general's health condition cannot withstand judicial proceedings, yet they insist on continuing them, which, he said, undermines all claims about fairness, humanism, and other principles.
“I am sorry. I know it. I went and testified and said what I think about Ratko Mladić in the courtroom of the Hague Tribunal. I was a witness for his defense,” Dodik remembered.
He added that he did so unlike many others who now "brag", naming Mladen Bosić and others, including former SDS leaders who, according to him, fail to acknowledge key figures from the time of Republika Srpska's creation.
Dodik also said he was a defense witness for Radovan Karadžić and that this caused him many problems.
“I did not see Bosić there, I did not see those from SDS who think they can lead politics. In reality, they made an agreement with Muslims on joint activity now and after the elections. That is a structure that cannot, does not want to, and does not dare to speak the names of Radovan Karadžić or Ratko Mladić,” Dodik concluded.
