FOREIGN EXCHANGE EXCEEDS ONE BILLION DOLLARS

BANJA LUKA, MARCH 31 /SRNA/ - In the first two months, Republika Srpska achieved a total foreign trade volume of $ 1.017 billion, while the export-import ratio was 69.6 percent, according to the data of the Republic Institute of Statistics.

The value of realized exports for the first two months of this year was $ 417.73 million, or 0.7 percent less than in the same period last year.

Realized imports in the observed period were slightly higher than $600 million dollars or by 5.5 percent.

In the first two months of this year, Republika Srpska achieved the top volume of foreign trade exchange of $168.13 million, or 16.5 percent of the total value of foreign trade business operations, in business with Serbia.

Italy is the second with the volume of foreign trade exchange of nearly $127 million and Croatia with approximately $117 million.

Observed from the point of economic groupings of countries, in the first two months of business operations with EU member states, Republika Srpska realized exports of $303 million, while the value of imports was nearly $335 million.
