DUE TO HEAVY RAIN SITUATION MOST DIFFICULT IN BANJA LUKA AND PRIJEDOR

BANJA LUKA, MARCH 31 /SRNA/ - Acting Director of the Republican Administration of Civil Protection, Boris Trninić, says the situation caused by heavy rain and flooding is currently the most difficult in Banja Luka and Prijedor, the cities that need the most help.

"According to the latest information, the area of Banja Luka is facing the most problems, where many landslides occurred due to heavy rain, where the rehabilitation will begin, as well as in Prijedor," Trninić told SRNA.

He has stated that the situation on the Sava River, which is the only one with a growing tendency, is being monitored.

Trninić says the Water Rescue Team has descended towards Bijeljina, where it will remain ready for the next 48 hours.

He has noted that the situation in Srpska is much better as of this morning. Most of the Sana's tributaries’ water level is declining and most of the municipalities that introduced emergency measures due to floods are canceling those measures.

Teams of the Republic Civil Protection Administration are on the ground helping local communities in repairing the damage, pumping out water from basements, schools and other flooded buildings.
