BUDAPEST, JUNE 5 /SRNA/ - Petar Đokić, the Minister of Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska, said that representatives of Republika Srpska discussed with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán the joint implementation of the Hrgud wind farm project and a solar power plant in the Trebinje area.

"The possibility of further cooperation between Republika Srpska and Hungary on other energy projects in the upcoming period has been opened," Đokić told reporters from Republika Srpska in Budapest.

Đokić added that this concerns the construction of the transmission network and the strengthening of transmission capacities, which would ensure that the energy produced in Republika Srpska can be safely transmitted to the Hungarian market.

"Prime Minister Orbán identified these issues and gave specific assignments from the Hungarian side. We have taken on obligations and responsibilities from our side to work together in the upcoming period and move towards full operational activity on these projects," Đokić explained.

He said that the Hrgud wind farm is one of the most important energy projects in the field of wind energy in BiH and Republika Srpska, and that he is confident it will be successful.

Đokić noted that other energy projects remain to be defined through bilateral activities, which will take place at the level of the Minister of Economy of Hungary and the Minister of Energy of Republika Srpska.

"I am confident that in the next few years we can intensify energy activities and achieve important results that would be significant both for Hungary and Republika Srpska," Đokić said.
