BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 6 /SRNA/ – The President of the SP, Petar Đokić, stated that he is confident in the electoral victory of the joint candidate of the ruling coalition in Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan, who has proven himself in multiple difficult political-legal battles, and that he will successfully continue this work in his new role as the President of Republika Srpska.
“We see the need to win the elections and ensure lasting stability for Republika Srpska,” Đokić said at a press conference in Banja Luka following a meeting of the presidents of the parties forming the ruling coalition in Republika Srpska.
Đokić noted that the early elections were a forced act and that the goal of the political persecution of the President of Republika Srpska was to create division and devastation within Srpska, which did not succeed.
“That persecution was a forced judicial process meant to bring about deep divisions in Srpska in order to permanently incapacitate it. Such a division would have occurred if we as the ruling coalition had been irresponsible, which is why we responsibly concluded that we must not allow divisions and help those who planned to devastate our institutions,” Đokić emphasized.
Đokić said that he does not know whether the Central Election Commission of BiH will be capable of preparing everything for the elections on the scheduled date—23 November.
“We do not know if they will be able to meet the scheduled date, but we will be ready, and those who planned to carry out devastation will not succeed, just as they will not succeed in dividing the institutions of Srpska,” Đokić said.
