BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 21 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Đokić said that it was important to further strengthen the good political and traditionally friendly relations between Republika Srpska and the Russian Federation through direct business cooperation, the exchange of knowledge and technology, and the establishment of partnerships that could contribute to the development of the domestic economy.
During a meeting in Banja Luka with a delegation from the Russian city of Nizhnyaya Tura, Đokić said that he had established contact with representatives of the Nizhnyaya Tura municipal district in July, during a visit to Russia’s Sverdlovsk Region, the relevant ministry said in a statement.
Đokić said that the aim of such initiatives was to bring businesspeople together and create conditions for concrete business arrangements that would serve the interests of both sides.
Following the meeting at the Ministry, a presentation of the Tizol company will be held at the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska, giving businesspeople from Republika Srpska an opportunity to learn about the company's product range, technological solutions and opportunities for business cooperation.
A memorandum of understanding between the city of Nizhnyaya Tura and the municipality of Brod will also be signed during the Russian delegation's two-day visit to Republika Srpska.
The initiative to establish cooperation between the two local communities emerged during Đokić's visit to Sverdlovsk Region earlier this year. The forthcoming signing of the memorandum represents a tangible result of the contacts established and activities aimed at strengthening ties between Republika Srpska and Russian regions, the statement said.
The delegation from the Russian city of Nizhnyaya Tura comprises head of the Nizhnyaya Tura municipal district Andrey Postovalov, representatives of the Tizol company and the autonomous non-profit organization Dialogue of Cultures.
The meeting was also attended by Republika Srpska Minister of Family, Youth and Sport Irena Ignjatović and representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in BiH, the statement added.
