YEKATERINBURG, JULY 8 /SRNA/ - During today’s talks held with the management of the SVEL Group Russian Company in Yekaterinburg, the Minister of Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska, Petar Đokić, expressed interest in the technical solutions and standards applied by this company, particularly in the context of improving the reliability of the power system in Republika Srpska.
As part of his participation in the Innoprom 2025 International Industrial Fair in Yekaterinburg, Đokić met with the management of this company, which is one of Russia’s leading producers of power equipment.
“The meeting discussed potential cooperation in the development and modernization of power infrastructure, as well as potential joint projects in the production of power transformers and other equipment necessary for electricity transmission,” stated the Ministry of Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska.
The press statement reads the SVEL management expressed readiness for further communication and to send an expert delegation to Republika Srpska for more detailed discussions on specific forms of cooperation.
The Ministry emphasized that the meeting was assessed as very constructive and a good basis for establishing technological and industrial partnerships with companies from Republika Srpska in the coming period.
After the meeting, Đokić visited the company’s production facilities, where transformers and other modern energy equipment are manufactured.
The SVEL Group headquartered in Yekaterinburg, has been operating for more than 20 years and is one of Russia’s largest producers of transformers and devices used in power systems to prevent damage to the network in cases of faults or short circuits, as well as other high-voltage components.
The company’s equipment is used in energy systems, industry, railways, and power plants throughout Russia and many former Soviet Union countries.
During his stay in Yekaterinburg, Đokić also met with Metropolitan Evgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye.
Đokić, who is visiting Yekaterinburg in the Sverdlovsk region of the Russian Federation, had earlier met with the leadership of the Ural Federal University.
Minister Đokić’s visit to Yekaterinburg represents a continuation of efforts to strengthen international cooperation and connect Republika Srpska with partner institutions in Russia.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the University of East Sarajevo, the statement noted.
