LAKTAŠI, APRIL 18 /SRNA/ - SNSD President Milorad Dodik called on citizens to attend the commemoration tomorrow in Donja Gradina, which will also be attended by His Holiness, Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy to monitor and combat anti-Semitism.
"Our great friends from Israel will also be there; some have already arrived and are giving statements, which shows that we have taken on the primary goal of bringing international attention to what happened in the Jasenovac area, and I believe we are succeeding in that," Dodik told reporters in Laktaši.
The Day of Remembrance for the victims of the Ustasha genocide in the Jasenovac concentration camp will be marked tomorrow in Kozarska Dubica and Donja Gradina, with the presence of a large number of officials.
According to data from the Donja Gradina Memorial Area, 700,000 victims of Ustasha crimes perished in the notorious Jasenovac camp during World War II, including 500,000 Serbs, 40,000 Roma, 33,000 Jews, and 127,000 anti-fascists. A total of 20,000 children were killed in Jasenovac.
