BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 17 /SRNA/ - President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik thanked his friend, Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Janković, for his open and courageous support, as well as for opposing the decisions of the Slovenian Government, which he described as gross interference in relations with Republika Srpska.
Dodik stressed that Janković's voice of reason and respect shows that genuine friendship transcends borders and temporary politics.
"Such positions confirm that true European values live through people, not through bureaucratic bans. Zoran Janković is the best proof that Europe can and must be better than what is currently demonstrated by various Brussels bureaucrats and their symbol – Christian Schmidt," Dodik emphasized.
He wrote on X that relations between governments rest on reciprocity, which is why the Government of Republika Srpska imposed entry bans on Tanja Fajon and Nataša Pirc-Musar.
"But precisely because Zoran Janković asked me, I will propose that these measures against them be lifted," Dodik noted.
Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Janković stated that he did not agree with the Slovenian Government's decision to ban Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik from entering Slovenia.
"I don't think it's right, I wouldn't have done it. But I do not interfere in the decision of the Slovenian Government," Janković said.
The Slovenian Government confirmed on September 11 its decision to impose sanctions on Republika Srpska President and SNSD leader Milorad Dodik, which include a ban on his entry into the country.
In response, the Government of Republika Srpska introduced reciprocal measures, banning Slovenian President Nataša Pirc-Musar and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon from entering Srpska.
