DODIK: SRPSKA HAS LOW DEBT AND LOW DEFICIT

BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 27 /SRNA/ – President Milorad Dodik says that Republika Srpska has low indebtedness and a low deficit of 0.4 percent.

Dodik has emphasized that, according to data from the International Monetary Fund, 80 percent of countries in the world are more indebted than Republika Srpska.

"We have low inflation, GDP growth that is close to BAM 20 billion, the lowest unemployment rate and the highest number of employed people since Srpska was founded, as well as a higher average salary than in the Federation of BiH," Dodik said.

Dodik has announced that today he will meet with representatives of trade unions and employers to discuss the amount of the minimum wage for the coming year.

"We want to support employers, but also to preserve the status of workers," Dodik stressed.

Dodik told RTRS that the Republika Srpska institutions want to take measures to improve the position of workers, so that they do not feel the need to seek jobs in other countries, where everything may seem idyllic but is not really so.

"At one point, two or three years ago, business enterprises reported profits of more than three billion BAM, which was when we said it was time to improve the position of workers," Dodik said.
