LAKTAŠI, AUGUST 29 /SRNA/ – The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik has stated today in Laktaši that the Secondary School Center in this town was built in line with the needs of the economy.

“This is not an ordinary high school. Entrepreneurs here specified that they need certain professions that are lacking in Laktaši and the surrounding areas. Businesspeople expressed their willingness to help equip the school with special tools, as well as to provide staff who would practically train students, so that upon graduation they can immediately be employed,” Dodik told reporters.

He emphasized that in line with the agreement with economic entities, the students of this school, on the very day they receive their diplomas, will be able to get jobs in Laktaši and some of the neighboring municipalities.

After the opening of the newly built Secondary School Center, Dodik said that this is a victory for Republika Srpska, its citizens, and its education system.

“It is important for every place to send a message that it has strong and significant educational institutions. Here, 4,500 square meters have been built for the education needs of 800 students. We did everything to make the facility functional, comfortable, and adapted to real needs,” Dodik explained.

He noted that this is in a way a pilot project, which will also demonstrate the school’s readiness to respond if there are demands for new professions.

“I believe that other local communities, when they see the experience of Laktaši, will act in the same way in this field of education,” Dodik pointed out.

According to him, enemies who want to undermine a nation first destroy its education, while on the other hand, authorities that want their people to develop and preserve traditions, develop educational institutions.

“This is the principle that guided us. I believe that all of us engaged in public affairs are measured by what we leave behind. Here in Laktaši, we leave behind this school, but also many other facilities, such as the shopping center building, sports hall, the future building of the Directorate of the Republika Srpska Electric Power Industry, and others,” Dodik said.

He stated that BAM 400 million has been invested in the economy of Laktaši, stressing that these are predominantly funds of business entities.

“They had the support of the city and the Republic, but that is insignificant compared to what entrepreneurs invest in Laktaši. Several industrial zones are being developed here – in Laktaši, Aleksandrovac, Drugovići, and Trn,” Dodik said.

A Secondary School Center, for the construction of which BAM 10.5 million was invested, was officially opened today in Laktaši.
