BELGRADE, August 21 /SRNA/ - The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, told SRNA that the upcoming referendum will demonstrate that Christian Schmidt is unworthy of playing games with the Serbian people, even though he imagines he can.

"At that point, we will see whether the will of the people is respected or the will of a worn-out, retired politician, given importance by the Muslims solely because he is against Srpska and against Serbs," Dodik stated.

He confirmed that he will announce the name of the new prime minister-designate for the Government of Republika Srpska immediately after the National Assembly of Srpska confirms that the current government's mandate has expired.

Speaking about the Declaration of the Association of Municipalities and Cities of Republika Srpska rejecting the politically motivated verdict against the President of Srpska, and the fact that not all local communities supported this document, Dodik said that unanimity is never possible, but that the majority stands against illegitimacy.

"Minorities do not concern us. What matters is the majority of the people in Republika Srpska, the majority of municipalities, assemblies, and institutions. The majority stands against illegitimacy and fights those who want to destroy Srpska. Those who, out of their own opportunistic reasons, show that they are part of the political and national refuse of the Serbian people do not deserve attention," Dodik emphasized.

He underlined that the support of Serbia as the homeland, as well as that of international friends, is of great importance to him and the Serbian people.

"This is my land, my people. Only through strange geopolitical games are we not in the same state, yet we live the same life, share the same way of living, rejoice in the same victories, and grieve the same defeats. We are united, and no one can change that. That is why every expression of support matters, carries weight, and means a great deal to me," Dodik told SRNA in Belgrade.
