BUDAPEST, NOVEMBER 26 /SRNA/ – SNSD President Milorad Dodik stated that during the meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, it was agreed that Republika Srpska's cooperation with Hungary is at the highest strategic level, and new joint projects were discussed.
Dodik told reporters in Budapest that discussions also covered a number of ongoing economic projects and emphasized that cooperation with Hungary would continue at both institutional and other levels.
He added that the meeting with Orban also touched upon certain aspects of the potential development of the political situation in Europe.
"It was impressive to hear Orbán's assessment regarding the possible end of the war in Ukraine, developments in the EU, as well as preparations for their elections scheduled for April," Dodik said after the meeting with Orbán, noting that the Republika Srpska delegation included Acting President Ana Trišić-Babić and the Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education Siniša Karan.
Dodik also said that the Republika Srpska delegation briefed the Hungarian Prime Minister on the current situation in Srpska, including the early elections held based on an unconstitutional ruling and a judicial process that, he said, was largely a harassment aimed at disintegrating and destabilizing Srpska.
"Siniša Karan won the elections, and we thanked Orbán for being the first to congratulate him. Orban said this was like a gift so that the three of us, who have held or will hold the office of president in recent months, could be together," Dodik noted.
He stated that all of this shows that the team will continue to work together and that Republika Srpska will maintain its current policies, particularly the continuity of high-level cooperation with Hungary.
"We are grateful for all the attention we have received so far. We also met with several of their ministers," Dodik said.
He announced that as part of the visit to Budapest, the Republika Srpska delegation would also attend a reception this evening with Hungarian ministers and representatives of cultural and political life.
