BANJA LUKA, MARCH 24 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said today in Banja Luka that NATO, as an organization that bombed Serbia without the approval from the UN Security Council and dropped tons of depleted uranium on the Serbs, cannot expect Serbs to give their consent to be part of this alliance.

"Republika Srpska remains outside the process of NATO membership. We will not be able to give consent, and on this matter, together with Serbia, we will maintain a position of cooperation, but certainly not move toward membership," emphasized Dodik at a press conference.

He said that NATO structures understand this well, but that political Sarajevo persistently tries to impose the narrative that BiH is moving toward membership in the military alliance.

"Serbs must never forget that NATO bombed them without a decision from the UN Security Council, that there was no international decision on it, and that it was done only to take revenge on the Serbs for alleged policies," emphasized Dodik.

He pointed out that NATO bombed the Serbian people twice, in Serbia and Republika Srpska.

"NATO has made our pain and suffering permanent in terms of the loss of children who innocently perished from NATO bombs across Serbia and Srpska," said Dodik.

He emphasized that the bombing of Republika Srpska was aimed at supporting the Muslims in BiH and contributed to the creation of a conclusion to the civil war.

"NATO, both then and today, has no intention of changing its approach and remains very biased toward one side in BiH. This does not mean that we should accept their ultimatums. NATO should be rejected as a possibility for membership," Dodik emphasized.

He noted that today marks 26 years since the shameful bombing of Serbia, which lasted over 70 days and during which even children perished.

"They did not choose targets. The target was everything in Serbia, first and foremost the Serbian people. That is why today is an important day for all Serbs, wherever they live," said Dodik.

He called on all good people to pray for the children killed in the bombing of Serbia.
