BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 19 /SRNA/ – President Milorad Dodik told SRNA that Republika Srpska can be an equal partner, but if that is not the case, then a time limit should be set for negotiations within BiH, and if no agreement is reached, then BiH should no longer exist as such.
Dodik said that Republika Srpska is committed to its Constitution and will not give up its territory or its rights.
"Republika Srpska has its loyal people, its territory. It has the democratic capacity to elect and respect its own government. Republika Srpska cooperates with regional, international, and even global powers," said Dodik.
He added that the only thing missing is international recognition of Republika Srpska as an independent state.
"That is the new pace we are moving at, regardless of what anyone says," Dodik emphasized.
Dodik said that Christian Schmidt remains illegal, illegitimate, and imposed.
Dodik believes Schmidt will end up being a cuckoo’s egg especially for Bosniak political leaders, who welcomed his ability to violate the Constitution and install people without democratic legitimacy into power, which is their problem.
"From our point of view, Christian Schmidt is a planted figure without legality or legitimacy. I am convinced that in the coming months, the world, which is based on what President Trump was saying about respecting peoples and their sovereignties, will have to reject Schmidt, despite a few EU member states and the Bosniak leadership in Sarajevo still trying to save him," said Dodik.
He emphasized this is a mistake, but it is their delusion.
"What we did yesterday in the National Assembly was to allow for better understanding," Dodik said.
Dodik expressed confidence that this will become clear over time even to those who never voted, never implemented it, but instead ran to British offices and Muslim premises in Sarajevo, making deals with them and claiming that Republika Srpska wasn’t under threat from Sarajevo and other lies.
"Now they forcing themselves in to position that they’re defending something. There’s nothing to defend. One day, when analysts, not just us oliticians, start talking about it, it’ll be clear this was our decision, not imposed. For the first time, we are in a position to decide for ourselves and see what needs to be done in order to gain the attention of the powerful, such as the U.S.A and current administration, and get in the position to bypass Sarajevo in the talks being held with globally important destinations," Dodik stated.
He added that many will not understand this, and he doesn’t intend to justify them.
Dodik said he began the day more convinced than ever that he is doing the best possible job for Republika Srpska and the Serb people.
"All the theories, all the disgusting and other observations I have listened to, I am leaving to them to live with ot. I’ll live with the conviction that we are doing the best job possible for Republika Srpska. I wasn’t born a sovereign, but I believe Republika Srpska now has a completely new dimension," stated Dodik.
He highlighted the strong cooperation with Serbia, saying President Aleksandar Vučić has never stopped supporting Republika Srpska, despite him being exposed to many issues related to Serbia’s internal affairs.
"We will keep treating this as one of our essential and top priorities," said Dodik.
He also added that he is proud of his cooperation with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban
"What Vučić started with Orbán and what I believed we should do, has led to global results and the fact that he is going to host a summit announced by President Trump himself, whose possibility is confirmed in Moscow, which proves that it is possible to be an excellent partner with both sides and strategic partner of both Russia and the U.S.A. that is the status we hold. And of course, to open a new chapter with the American administration because America has changed as well," Dodik pointed out.
He emphasized that the best example that this is possible is Prime Minister Orban, who suffered many attacks in Europe, many unpleasant situations, but remained firm in his belief that good relations with the new administration, primarily with Trump and his team, should be maintained, while also keeping the door open to the Russian Federation.
"We have conducted a policy that accommodates both sides. We were not proud of what the Biden administration did, we had no relations with them; they punished us," Dodik stated.
He said that a new time has come in which, as President Trump said, the Biden administration is the worst that ever existed in the world.
Dodik emphasized that this is a new chapter and that he believes it will be successful.
"Our policies are defined and permanent. Nothing has changed in our position towards Schmidt. He is an illegal fraud, a criminal, a descendant of fascists, and a man who came here to fulfill Germany’s fascist intents in BiH. Whether it's written or not, it is always important to know that," Dodik said.
He stated that any attempt by Schmidt to impose property-related decisions, or anything else some speculate about, is out of the question.
"Our stance remains that we will immediately declare independence the moment such a decision is made. No matter what anyone thinks about it," Dodik said.
He confirmed that Republika Srpska will never give up its property in talks.
"All of this began and escalated when Schmidt formed a property commission, and we told him we would declare independence. That’s when they started the narrative: ‘Get rid of Dodik, let’s try to talk about it.’ But they didn’t remove Dodik. I am still here, I remain here, I consider myself a representative of the Serb, devoted to its history and its future," Dodik said.
He emphasized that he will keep fighting for the rights of the Serb people.
"I am convinced that we have created a good foundation for this. Is Dodik the president, or not? For those who believe I am – I am. For those who never thought I was – I never will be. There is no need to explain anything," said Dodik.
He stressed that he is the elected president under the Constitution of Republika Srpska and that he will continue to represent Republika Srpska to the best of his ability, both personally and politically.
Dodik said he will have to disappoint many who see grand theories in all of this.
"There is nothing grand hereonly one simple. There is only essential, fundamental desire: that Republika Srpska repositions itself and one day becomes an independent state, to separate from those who hate Serbs, like Sarajevo; to separate from those hypocrites who offer seemingly nice things while actually serving us historical injustice, so that one day we can say ‘goodbye and good riddance’. That is what we want to see in the time to come," Dodik concluded.
