BANJA LUKA, JUNE 4 /SRNA/ – The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik announced that he will be on a working visit to Hungary at the invitation of his friend and host, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, with whom he will discuss strategic projects in the fields of energy and agriculture, emphasizing that Srpska seeks to build its economy with those who understand and respect it.
“Hungary today is a symbol of state policy that protects its people, its borders, and its way of life – and that is why it is our natural ally,” Dodik stated.
He underlined that while some in the West are threatening to resettle migrants in BiH, Hungary is showing how a state defends itself – both at its borders and through institutions.
Republika Srpska, he said, shares the values of freedom, independence, and European tradition with Hungary.
“In a world that is changing, it is important to have friends who don’t look away when times are tough. That’s why we are grateful Hungary understands our positions – both in Brussels and in the region,” Dodik wrote on the social media platform X.
He stressed that cooperation between Republika Srpska and Hungary is an example of how one doesn’t have to choose between East and West, but rather between respect and coercion.
Dodik noted that although history between Serbs and Hungarians hasn’t always been easy, the present teaches how important a partnership built on solid foundations is.
“I’m going to talk, work, and build – for the good of Republika Srpska and for the strong friendship that endures,” Dodik concluded.
