TEL AVIV, MARCH 27 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said that the conference on the fight against anti-Semitism is an opportunity to highlight historical revisionism, aimed at downplaying the extent of suffering of the Jewish people during what is called the Holocaust and genocide.
"The Jewish people, globally speaking, are the nation that suffered the most, but the Serbian people are the people that suffered the most in the Balkans," Dodik emphasized.
He emphasized that the history of suffering connects the two nations, as well as other values such as a free society, democracy, and parliamentarianism.
Dodik is a participant in the conference being held in Israel, and the delegation from Republika Srpska includes the Minister for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education Željko Budimir.
Before the start of the conference, Dodik said that there is no longer a day in Europe that marks Victory Day, as it has been erased, which is undoubtedly the result of forces that seek to revise history.
"We, as friends of Israel, should influence our European friends to restore Victory Day celebration, so that new generations know what happened," Dodik told RTRS.
He stressed that he has never hesitated to support Israel's efforts and the Jewish people in preserving stability and freedom, regardless of the circumstances.
"That is the case this time as well, and I want to draw attention to radical Islam. It’s the same as with us. They have attacked during holidays and killed in the same way," Dodik said.
He thanked his hosts for the invitation to participate in the conference and said that he would not withdraw his support.
"I support Israel in permanently resolving the security issue," Dodik said.
Before the conference, Dodik had a conversation with Ariel Bulshtein, head of the International Relations Department of the Likud Party.
