SAINT PETERSBURG, JUNE 19 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said that Republika Srpska is stable, with fully functioning institutions, and that BiH is a failed state, whose situation has long been hopeless and which, as a project, cannot withstand the test of time.
"Republika Srpska is a stable entity. We have the highest possible level of security in the region. We are seeing economic development, and, despite nearly impossible conditions, we are demonstrating growth. But BiH can no longer help itself; it has essentially fallen apart," Dodik said in an interview with Izvestia.
Speaking about whether Republika Srpska will strengthen internal security in the context of the recent attempt to detain him by force at the BiH level, while Republika Srpska has stated its desire to leave BiH, Dodik reiterated that Srpska is stable.
"No, we will not take any formal steps, there is no need for that," the Republika Srpska President said.
When asked whether the criminal prosecution of Republika Srpska's leadership can be considered a violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, which ended the civil war in the country in 1995, and whether that document could eventually be replaced by another, Dodik said that the West had lied and that BiH would not last much longer.
"The West lied when it concluded the Minsk agreements. It lied when it developed the Dayton Agreement. It lied when it created UN Security Council Resolution 1244 on Kosovo – it was all a lie. Therefore, we have no reason to trust them now. The distant promises of Western countries that have acted in such a deceitful way are humiliating, above all, for the West itself. Russia has certainly understood this," Dodik emphasized.
He asked who could trust the West when former German Chancellor Angela Merkel directly said that the Minsk agreements were signed to buy time and to arm Ukraine to fight against Russia.
"They entered a conflict in which they obviously sacrificed the Ukrainian land and people to inflict as much damage as possible on the Russian Federation and the Russian people themselves. Therefore, it is impossible to believe this. The future depends on global processes. In any case, BiH as a project cannot withstand the test of time. It is an illusion created long ago. And like all illusions, even if supported by a powerful force like the United States, it will not last long," Dodik said.
Regarding the foreign policy of the new American administration in the Balkans, Dodik assessed that U.S. President Donald Trump was a positive change for America, and that his arrival and positions certainly give hope.
Dodik is convinced that America will realize it has done a great injustice to BiH, especially in terms of blockades.
"I believe that if /Joseph/ Biden had remained, we would have been on the brink of a third world war. The previous America was focused on power and exclusively on its own interests. We hear Trump saying that the Biden administration was the worst in the history of the United States," Dodik said.
Dodik emphasized that thanks to Trump, two positive things were achieved — first, his administration declared the U.S. Agency for International Development /USAID/, which funded the NGO sector and so-called "color revolutions," to be a criminal organization; and second, Trump rejected all the experiments and nonsense that had become the dominant narrative, stating that he recognizes only American power, men and women, traditional morals, and the traditional family.
"That shows how right the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, was decades ago. Preserving tradition and traditional social relations is the foundation of stability. Now we know that Putin and Trump are negotiating. We believe they will do everything possible to make the world a better place to live," Dodik emphasized.
Dodik pointed out that it is becoming obvious that Europe is no longer a concept that inspires or leads anywhere forward, that it no longer resembles a shining ideal, so the question arises — what is it now at all?
"When these countries approach the gates of the EU, they will fall apart. We do not understand the essence of this concept," Dodik said, speaking about how realistic the prospect of BiH joining the EU is, given that it remains a candidate for membership.
He pointed out that the so-called love /from the EU/, which they want to present as genuine toward the Balkans, is actually false and artificial.
"It has turned out that the EU has no clear solutions and is losing strategic advantages because of its foolish policies. It has no authoritative leader - all current politicians are fighting only to stabilize their own countries, and no one has risen to lead Europe," Dodik said.
On the other hand, Dodik pointed out, this area, lacking mineral resources and strategic raw materials, has lost the advantages it once had due to its proximity to the Russian Federation and is now completely losing its competitiveness.
He pointed out that the EU has allowed free entry of migrants from third countries, from societies incompatible with Western European ones, which undermines the traditional way of life in Europe and threatens the security of its countries.
"We simply repeat out of inertia that Europe is something important that we must support. Yes, we are surrounded by the EU, but it is becoming obvious that Europe is no longer a concept that inspires or leads anywhere forward. We live in the times of the prophecy Orwell described when he spoke of a world where lies become truth, and truth becomes lies. He accurately predicted the moment in which both Europe and the Balkans find themselves today. Everyone lies to each other, both sides, and there is no progress," Dodik said.
