BUDAPEST, SEPTEMBER 4 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik is attending the “Serbian Days – Month of Serbian Culture in Hungary” event, which was opened on Thursday evening at the Ethnographic Museum in Budapest, reported a SRNA journalist.
The purpose of the event, which is also attended by Hungarian and Serbian officials, as well as the newly appointed Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, Željko Budimir, is to showcase, preserve, and develop Serbian culture in Hungary, as well as to enrich the cultural scene in general.
The program of the event, which will run until September 24, is diverse and includes exhibitions, performances by various choirs and musical groups, theatrical plays, and film screenings.
At the opening of the event, the Chamber Orchestra of the National Theatre of Republika Srpska will perform as special guests.
The main organizer of the event is the Serbian Orthodox Eparchy of Buda, and the patrons are the Office of the President of Republika Srpska and the Ministry of Culture of Serbia.
The “Serbian Days” event is extremely important for preserving national identity, promoting Serbian culture, and strengthening ties between Serbs in Hungary, their home countries /Serbia and Republika Srpska/, and Hungary.
