BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 17 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik stated that the United States has entered a new phase of relations with Russia, as evidenced by President Donald Trump's assessment following his meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
"The world has long awaited this dialogue between two of the three most important global leaders. Some say it was a historic meeting that achieved a great deal. Only the naive cannot understand that global changes are underway, changes in which Europe has no role. But Europe also lacks leaders, which is why no one without political strength could have had a seat at the table," Dodik said.
Dodik expressed his expectation that talks between Putin and Trump will continue, and that a new meeting will be held soon with the aim of stopping the conflict in Ukraine.
"Global powers do not sit down to resolve just one issue, but to negotiate new global relations. This meeting also touched on global supply chains across the North Pole, investments, artificial intelligence, and space," Dodik told RTRS.
According to him, Donald Trump’s policy is to attract as many investments as possible to the United States, as evidenced by the presence of representatives of Russia’s business community in Alaska.
"The statements made by the leaders after the meeting were on a statesmanlike level; they did not go into details, but it is clear that this was a successful meeting, one with which we can be satisfied," Dodik emphasized.
Dodik emphasized that Europe and the previous U.S. administration supported the war, believing they could bring Russia to its knees.
"The war has claimed a huge number of lives and caused problems not only for Russia and Ukraine. They wanted to bring Russia to its knees through sanctions and attrition, but nothing came of it. Europe has run into difficulties, lost its geostrategic position, and is now merely a consumer of solutions put forward by the great powers, rather than a participant in resolving problems," Dodik said.
The President of Republika Srpska emphasized that this marks the end of the EU and its policies.
"They raised Russophobia to an incredible level, but Trump swept it aside with a single meeting," Dodik said.
Dodik reiterated that Europe has lost its geostrategic significance and ceased to be competitive at the global geostrategic level.
