MODRIČA, JUNE 22 /SRNA/ – The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that two days ago he received information that a group from Konjic, gathered around certain businessmen, placed a bounty of EUR one million on his head, but he emphasized that he is not afraid.
"Two days ago, I received a report from our Ministry of Internal Affairs, and from the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, that a group from Konjic, gathered around certain businessmen, put a bounty of one million euros on my head, and that they have the names of those who are supposed to intercept me somewhere—God knows to do what," Dodik told reporters.
He noted that he was confronted with this information while in Russia, but added that it doesn't matter.
"They think I’m scared, that I won’t go to Konjic. When you hear a helicopter landing, that’s me," Dodik stressed.
He stated that the threats are because of his relations with Russia and questioned why anyone believes they have the right to dictate with whom he communicates, pointing out that he never told others not to communicate with Turkiye.
"Did I ever say, don’t go to Saudi Arabia? Why do they think they have the right to tell me whether I should go to Russia or not? I will go there at least three more times this year," said Dodik.
He added that he does not believe silence and appeasement lead to solutions, but rather to humiliation.
"This afternoon, there will be a significant number of people from American political circles present—so why wouldn’t I also be in contact with the Russians?" Dodik concluded.
