DESECRATION OF MEMORIAL PLAQUE IN VRACA SHOWS HATRED TOWARD EVERYTHING WITH SERB PREFIX

SREBRENICA, MAY 14 /SRNA/ - The desecration of a memorial plaque in Vraca commemorating a Serb military review held 33 years ago, which is the second desecration in about twenty days, is clear evidence of a number of fundamentalists living in federal Sarajevo who do not want peace and are disturbed by everything bearing Serb prefix, emphasized Branimir Kojić, the head of the Srebrenica Municipal Organisation of Families of Captured, Fallen Soldiers and Missing Civilians.

"Such acts of hatred reflect the situation in BiH and the deep-rooted hatred toward anything with Serb prefix. This happened just one day after the 33rd anniversary of the formation of the Republika Srpska Army was marked, as the plaque mentions the name of a Serb hero - General Ratko Mladić," Kojić told SRNA.

On behalf of the organisation, Kojić proposed to the leadership of East Sarajevo Municipality that a memorial bust be installed at the site in honour of Serb heroes.

Kojić pointed out that both federal and unconstitutional judiciary bodies at the BiH level allow such desecrations to occur, as they fail to prosecute those who have vandalized memorials both in the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska so far.

The memorial plaque in Vraca, located in East New Sarajevo and erected in memory of the military review conducted at that location by General Ratko Mladić in May 1992, was once again damaged last night.

By the early morning hours, the plaque had already been fully repaired.
