DEFENSIVE-PATRIOTIC WAR TO BE DEFINED AS ESSENTIAL TO EXISTENCE OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

GRADIŠKA, April 30 /SRNA/ – The Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, stated that he will advocate for the Defensive-Patriotic War to be defined in the preamble of the new constitution as something without which Republika Srpska would not exist.

Stevandić noted that he will push for the new constitution of Republika Srpska to give proper recognition to its veterans and the legacy of their struggle for freedom during the Defensive-Patriotic War.

"We will propose two amendments. In the preamble of the constitution, we will demand that the Defensive-Patriotic War be defined, in its historical section, as something essential to the very existence of Republika Srpska," Stevandić told reporters after attending a session of the Assembly of the Veterans' Organization of Republika Srpska in Gradiška.

He added that they will also request the inclusion of an article in the constitution that will express Republika Srpska’s special gratitude and commitment to veteran categories.
