DEFENDING THE TRUTH ABOUT THE EXODUS AND SUFFERING OF SERBS PERMANENTLY TOGETHER WITH SERBIA

SARAJEVO, AUGUST 4 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, stated that the Republika Srpska, together with Serbia, will permanently defend the truth about the exodus and suffering of the Serbian people.

She pointed out that Mrkonjić Grad, a place of severe suffering in the past Defense-Patriotic War, is this year the symbolic center of gathering and joint remembrance by the Republic of Srpska and the Republic of Serbia for all the victims of the Croatian military-police operation "Oluja" /Storm/, as well as for all those who lost their homes overnight.

"It is our duty and moral obligation to remember the past so that we may have a future and so that the sacrifice of the victims will not be in vain," Cvijanović posted on the social network "X".

Tonight in Mrkonjić Grad is the central commemoration of the Day of Remembrance for all the murdered and exiled Serbs in the Croatian-Muslim pogrom against Serbs from the Republic of Serbian Krajina and the Republic of Srpska in 1995. The commemoration is organized by the committees for nurturing the tradition of liberation wars of the governments of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia.

In the Republic of Srpska, it is a Day of Mourning on the occasion of marking 31 years since the suffering of Serbs in the Croatian military-police operation "Oluja", during which more than 1,904 persons of Serbian nationality were killed, and more than 220,000 were expelled from the areas of Banija, Lika, Kordun, and northern Dalmatia.
