BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 27 /SRNA/ – SNSD Vice President Željka Cvijanović has said it is only right for the SDS to take part in the repeated early elections for the president of Republika Srpska, since that party was the first to rush in and, in agreement with Christian Schmidt, put forward a candidate for these elections in an attempt to seize the will of the people expressed in the previous regular elections.
"It is also right for the SDS to participate when they are informed in advance that certain deadlines will be extended for appointments, for example, to polling boards, even before the Central Election Commission formally decides on this," Cvijanović wrote on the social media platform X, commenting on a statement by SDS Vice President Želimir Nešković that conditions have been created for the party to take part in the elections.
Cvijanović also mentioned that the terms of office of two CEC members were "extended by Christian Schmidt, /what a coincidence!/, even though they should have retired upon turning 65."
"It is interesting how the opposition interprets the situation, claiming there is vote theft wherever they lose, but democracy and the will of the people only where they win," Cvijanović added.
