BANJALUKA, AUGUST 4 /SRNA/ - SNSD Vice President Željka Cvijanović stated that Milorad Dodik, leader of SNSD and President of Republika Srpska, has initiated a fight for a normal, credible, democratic, and sovereign environment, which is why efforts are underway to undermine Republika Srpska by targeting its president.

Speaking after the SNSD Main Board session in Banjaluka, Cvijanović said that judicial interference at the BiH level has been used to suppress political positions originating from Republika Srpska, and reiterated that SNSD will continue to oppose any attempt to centralize BiH.

She urged citizens to be aware of the seriousness of the current political moment and emphasized that SNSD guarantees organization and stability, consistently fulfilling its promises.

Cvijanović recalled past abuses by various High Representatives, including removing officials from elected posts, stripping them of employment, documentation, and rights, and even targeting their families, actions that, she stressed, are not rule of law.

"SNSD is not and will not become a disoriented political party. We are united, focused, and determined to achieve our already defined goals in the next election cycle," she said, citing the number of seats in the BiH House of Representatives and the party’s strategy for the House of Peoples.

She added that the attack on Dodik and SNSD is part of a long-standing effort to weaken Republika Srpska, pointing to the recent unlawful removal of the party’s fourth delegate in the BiH House of Peoples as a clear example.

"SNSD is not responsible for the instability surrounding Republika Srpska. The verdict against President Dodik is a grave blow to what should be the democratic development of BiH. We will oppose anything that violates the Dayton framework and the constitutional competencies of Republika Srpska," Cvijanović concluded.

The SNSD Main Board unanimously rejected the verdict against Dodik and reaffirmed its full support for its president in the face of what it described as politically motivated silencing attempts.
