BANJA LUKA, JULY 29 /SRNA/ - A new overpass, worth BAM 530,000, will be built on a section of the Banja Luka - Klašnice main road, in the settlement of Trn, the Republika Srpska Roads company told SRNA.
The works, to be carried out by Niskogradnja from Laktaši, are expected to begin by the end of the week, as the contracting process has already been completed. The construction deadline is 90 days.
"Machinery is currently being moved to the construction site to create the necessary conditions for the works to begin, which also requires obtaining a permit from the Ministry of Transport and Communications regarding a change in the traffic regime," the Republika Srpska Road stated.
The company also appealed to citizens for patience, as traffic on and beneath the overpass will be suspended for safety reasons and redirected to alternative routes.
The works include the construction of a bypass over the main road, which will serve as an alternative route, and are expected to last around 15 days.
The demolition of the overpass structure is scheduled to begin within the planned 10-day period. This will be followed by the installation of supports, the construction of the deck, and the completion of other necessary tasks to build the new overpass on this section of the road.
Some media outlets have previously aired video footage showing the overpass above the main road in Trn, which is in very poor condition.
