BANJA LUKA, MAY 14 /SRNA/ – The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that the conclusions of the Presidency of BiH, against which the Serb member Željka Cvijanović has invoked a veto, represent a complete destruction of the Constitution of BiH.
Dodik emphasized that Republika Srpska is not subordinate but sovereign in deciding whether a decision by the Presidency of BiH is valid or not.
"The Constitution states in several places, `if the entities agree`. It says that certain competencies may be regulated at the BiH level only if the entities agree," Dodik said at the special session of the National Assembly regarding the veto by the Serb member and Chairperson of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović on the disputed conclusions adopted by Presidency members Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić.
He also noted that the unconstitutional term "state of BiH" is being used, even though the Constitution defines it simply as "BiH," without any prefix, including that of a "state".
"Everywhere we see narratives that are unconstitutional, and then we’re accused of violating the Constitution," Dodik stressed.
He explained that BiH is composed of Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH.
Dodik concluded that Republika Srpska is being subjected every day to an imposed and complete transformation of the constitutional order.
