BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 29 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska believes that BiH can build a successful future only by consistently respecting the provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement, and the leadership of Republika Srpska remains unwaveringly committed to peace and stability, according to a report by the Government of Republika Srpska submitted to the UN Security Council.
"Republika Srpska and its elected leadership are inalterably dedicated to peace and stability and seek nothing more than the faithful implementation of the Dayton Agreement. They fully respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH," the report stressed.
The report states that the highest elected officials of Republika Srpska consistently and unequivocally reaffirm Srpska's commitment to the Dayton Agreement.
It notes that Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said in August this year that Republika Srpska insists solely on exercising the rights guaranteed to it under the Dayton Agreement and seeks nothing that does not belong to it.
At a meeting with EUFOR Commander in BiH Maurice Frond, Minić also emphasized Republika Srpska's full commitment to ensuring a safe and stable environment and welcomed EUFOR's activities aimed at achieving that goal, the report reads.
Similarly, the report states that at a meeting with the Danish Ambassador to BiH in July this year, Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan stressed that Republika Srpska consistently advocates the strict implementation of the Constitution of BiH and respect for the letter of the Dayton Agreement.
He also emphasized the commitment of Republika Srpska's institutions to dialogue and the preservation of peace and stability.
According to the Media System of Republika Srpska – SRNA, Karan said in September "that the greatest misconception is to portray Republika Srpska as a problem for BiH," stressing that it is the only defender of the constitutional order of Dayton BiH.
The systematic centralization of institutions and the violation of the rights of constituent peoples are also reflected in the actions of the FBiH authorities, where the way land registry harmonization is being carried out serves to deprive the Serbian Orthodox Church of property rights it has held for centuries.
"By re-registering centuries-old churches, chapels and cemeteries as state property rather than church property, the FBiH administrative authorities are actively undermining the cultural heritage and legal autonomy of Serbs as a constituent people," the report stressed.
It was also pointed out that Bosniak parties are deliberately obstructing the economic development of Republika Srpska by blocking key development projects for years, including the construction of the Buk Bijela Hydro Power Plant and Trebinje Airport.
"Republika Srpska hopes that the new Bosniak leaders elected in the October elections will refrain from all such obstructionist policies and destabilizing attacks on the Dayton Agreement and will instead work cooperatively with all parties to improve the stability and economic development of BiH," the report reads.
