EAST SARAJEVO, MARCH 28 /SRNA/ - On Sunday, March 30, a commemoration will be held in Sokolac to mark the 33rd anniversary of the first inspection of the militia of the Serbian Republic of BiH – the police of Republika Srpska.
The event is organized by the Branch of the Veterans' Association of Security Services of Republika Srpska from East Sarajevo.
The president of the Branch Radovan Pejić has said that the commemoration will take place in Sokolac, where the first inspection of the militia of the Serbian Republic of BiH, which is now the police of Republika Srpska, was held at the football stadium on March 30, 1992.
He reminded that the then Minister of the Serbian Autonomous Region of Romanija Zoran Cvijetić, presented a report to the first Minister of Internal Affairs of the Serbian Republic of BiH Mićo Stanišić and that the police officers took their oath.
According to the program of this traditional event, a reception will be held at 11:30 for the delegation of veterans of the security services of Republika Srpska hosted by the mayor of Sokolac Strahinja Bašević.
A memorial service and wreath-laying for the fallen and deceased members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Army of Republika Srpska are scheduled for 12:00 at the central memorial, and a visit to the Memorial Room is scheduled for 12:30.
