PRIJEDOR, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA/ – The Prijedor City Administration has called on citizens to remain calm following a threatening message calling for jihad, which was sent to the Republika Srpska National Assembly and mentioned Prijedor and certain individuals, stressing that the competent authorities are working intensively to identify the person who sent the message and establish all the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The City Administration stated it had been informed of the threatening message content and was in constant contact with the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior /MoI/.
Citizens were urged not to spread unverified information or disinformation.
"Such messages understandably cause concern, but there is no need to spread panic or draw conclusions before the competent institutions establish all the facts," the statement said.
The Prijedor City Administration emphasised that it would remain in constant contact with the Srpska MoI and monitor developments. The public would be informed promptly of any information concerning the case as soon as it was officially confirmed.
Threatening messages calling for jihad, the mutilation of baptised children and the killing of baptised citizens were received today at the registry office of the Republika Srpska National Assembly.
The author, who identifies himself as a member of "jihad in BiH", calls for everything necessary to be provided for the "functioning of jihad in the city of Prijedor and throughout Islamic BiH".
