SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 29 /SRNA/ - By deciding to take part in the early elections for the President of Republika Srpska, the SNSD is defending the people’s right to choose their own representatives instead of having others choose for them, but also defending the Republic's institutions, stated Sanja Vulić, Head of the SNSD Caucus in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.

"If we were to give up on the elections, we would open the door for Sarajevo and their mentors to appoint their own President of Republika Srpska. And we know very well, only the people of Republika Srpska can elect their President," Vulić told SRNA.

She emphasized that by participating in the elections, the SNSD is not defending just one political party, but is defending the institutions of Republika Srpska and the right to "choose for ourselves".

"We are defending Milorad Dodik, because an attack on Dodik is an attack on all of us," Vulić added.

She stated that the will of the people of Republika Srpska was taken away when the foreigner, Christian Schmidt, forcibly challenged the mandate of President Milorad Dodik, who was elected by the people.

She emphasized that this was not just an attack on Dodik, but on every person in Republika Srpska who went to the polls and cast their vote.

"Milorad Dodik is a symbol of our struggle for freedom and the right to decide our own destiny. That is why Dodik is being attacked, because he has never bowed to foreigners and always stands with his people. Dodik is also a symbol of the fight against globalists, an obstacle to those who want to erase our Christian values and identity," Vulić emphasized.

She stressed that that's why there is no turning back today, reminding that Schmidt stole the will of the people when he challenged the mandate, and that Dodik remains a symbol of freedom and consistent struggle for the people of Republika Srpska.

"Elections are a way to reclaim the stolen right and to show that only the people of Republika Srpska have a say. Only by winning the elections can we protect the institutions of Srpska, the will of the people, and our President," Vulić concluded.

At a session held today in Banja Luka, the SNSD Main Board unanimously decided that the party will run in the upcoming early election for the president of Republika Srpska.
