BANJA LUKA, APRIL 6 /SRNA/ - The Minister of Interior of Republika Srpska Željko Budimir said that the Ministry of Interior /MOI/ will, as before, professionally carry out its part of the work regarding the visit of Donald Trump Jr. to Banja Luka, adding that the visit will proceed as it should.

Responding to a question about Trump Jr.'s arrival in Banja Luka, Budimir said that the MOI is acting in accordance with all measures applied when very important persons visit Srpska, and that everything will be done to ensure that anyone coming to Republika Srpska feels safe.

"Do not worry, everything will be as it should be," Budimir said in response to journalists' questions in Banja Luka.

Budimir, who is also a professor of international relations and security, said that the visit of Donald Trump Jr. to Srpska is very important, noting that Srpska has not long been in a position for its voice to be heard in certain places.

"Now we have made a breakthrough. This is the result of certain diplomatic activities of Republika Srpska and its leadership, who have been under tremendous pressure in the past period, and now we are emerging from such a situation. The Serb member of the Presidency Željka Cvijanović, President Milorad Dodik worked very diligently, and now President Siniša Karan as well," Budimir stressed.

Budimir added that representatives of Srpska are engaged in what he described as a "diplomatic push" to do everything possible to improve the position of Republika Srpska and the Serb people, and to protect them from those who, he said, have caused significant harm in the past.

"We are in a `diplomatic push` for one reason only - not to act against anyone else, but to do everything we can to ensure that the position of Republika Srpska and the Serb people as a constituent people is as strong as possible," Budimir pointed out.
