BANJA LUKA, JUNE 25 /SRNA/ – Rod Blagojevich, a close associate of US President Donald Trump, told SRNA that he hopes the new US administration will recognize that the Office of the High Representative /OHR/ is undemocratic and represents a modern form of administrative colonialism.
Blagojevich emphasized that the U.S. administration should understand that the OHR is the antithesis of everything American values represent.
"This is a government of bureaucrats, by bureaucrats and for bureaucrats – from another country! These aren't even your own bureaucrats doing this to you. I cannot imagine anyone in Trump's circle, and certainly not Trump himself, who wouldn’t find that situation repugnant," Blagojević cited in SRNA's podcast.
Blagojevich, who is also a former governor of the US state of Illinois, says the problem is that Republika Srpska is a small place in a big world.
"The real challenge is getting this issue on the agenda and directing the attention of new US policymakers to it. I am determined to help with that," Blagojevich stressed.
CHRISTIAN SCHMIDT A CRIMINAL WHO SHOULD BE JAILED FOR ABUSING CONSTITUTION
Blagojevich argued that Christian Schmidt is a criminal who should be imprisoned for abusing the constitution.
"He is stealing from the people of Republika Srpska the right to elect their president in free and fair elections, labeling things as crimes that are not crimes. What is the crime? Disrespecting the High Representative? Which legislative body passed that law? Where is that written in the Constitution or the Dayton Peace Agreement that he has such authority?" Blagojevich asked.
He stressed that Schmidt is acting without legal authority and added that he believes Schmidt is an agent of former U.S. Ambassador to BiH Michael Murphy, installed by the Biden administration.
"I assume that Schmidt is merely an instrument of Murphy's policies against the Serbs, more so than acting on his own," Blagojevich said.
He emphasized that both Schmidt and Murphy should be held accountable for everything they have done to Republika Srpska.
"I spent eight years in prison for things that weren't crimes, thanks to corrupt prosecutors. The same people who did that to me tried to do the same to Donald Trump. And the same thing is happening here against your president," Blagojevich stressed.
He added that the situation, in which foreign high representatives are accountable to no one yet can override voters' decisions to choose their leaders, represents a new form of dictatorship.
"This issue is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and your president has found himself at the center of it - on the wrong side, the side of the victim. What they've done is shameful," Blagojevich concluded.
