BANJA LUKA, JUNE 24 /SRNA/ – Former Governor of the U.S. state of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, told SRNA that Republika Srpska will certainly be a topic of discussion at his potential next meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Blagojevich noted that Republika Srpska would, in fact, be the purpose of such a meeting.
"I intend to request that meeting, though I can’t say for certain when or whether it will take place. Do I believe it will happen? Yes. But the United States is a large country, and the world is a big place," Blagojevich emphasized in an SRNA podcast.
He expressed hope that the next U.S. administration will recognize that the Office of the High Representative (OHR) is undemocratic and represents a modern form of administrative colonialism.
Blagojevich argued that the OHR stands in direct contradiction to core American values.
He accused Christian Schmidt of being a criminal who should be imprisoned for abusing the constitution and labeling non-criminal actions as crimes.
"He robs the people of Republika Srpska of the right to elect their president in free and fair elections and calls things crimes that are not criminal acts. What is the crime? Not respecting the High Representative? What legislative body passed that? Where is that written in the Constitution or the Dayton Agreement, that he has such authority?" Blagojevich asked.
He emphasized that Schmidt operates without any legitimate mandate and claimed that Schmidt is an agent of former U.S. Ambassador to BiH Michael Murphy, appointed by the Biden administration.
Blagojevich also said that names are currently being considered for the next U.S. ambassador to BiH, and noted that the potential appointment of Mark Brnovich as U.S. ambassador to Serbia would be a positive sign for Republika Srpska.
