BANJA LUKA, JUNE 25 /SRNA/ - Rod Blagojevich, a close associate of US President Donald Trump, told SRNA that there are several names currently under consideration for the new U.S. ambassador to BiH, and added that the intention to appoint Mark Brnovich as ambassador to Serbia is a positive sign for Republika Srpska.

Blagojevich says he does not have information on whether a U.S. ambassador to BiH will be appointed soon, noting that he is familiar with the names being discussed, but would not disclose them publicly.

"There are many ambassadorial posts that haven’t been filled yet, which is not surprising given how much work there is to do once you become president. We're still in the organisational process of forming the administration. I know that President Donald Trump has stated that the ambassador to Serbia will be Mark Brnovich, who is a good man and whom I believe will be an excellent ambassador," Blagojevich said in his SRNA podcast.

Blagojevich added that the new ambassador to Serbia will be someone who understands the needs and issues of the Serb people, as he is of Serb origin himself.

"It's a good sign that President Trump has nominated Brnovich. That's also a good thing for Republika Srpska," emphasized Blagojevich, who is also a former governor of the U.S. state of Illinois.
