BiH PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE SILENT OVER BRUTAL CRIME AGAINST SERBS AT CRNI VRH

ZVORNIK, SEPTEMBER 10 /SRNA/ – Crni Vrh near Zvornik is marking today the 34th anniversary of the suffering of 11 members of the Republika Srpska Army, police and civilians, who were ambushed today in 1992 by Muslims from Srebrenica.

Staka Petrović, a member of the Presidency of the Zvornik City Organisation of Families of Fallen, Captured Soldiers and Missing Civilians, said that the Prosecutor's Office and Court of BiH should be ashamed for not convicting anyone or issuing an indictment for the brutal killing of civilians who were traveling toward Zvornik in trucks and cars.

"Acting from an ambush, the Muslims brutally took the lives of innocent people who were passing peacefully, unaware that this was their last journey,” Petrović said.

She stressed that the Serb people must remember their fallen soldiers, police officers and civilians, especially the innocent children whose lives were taken by the perpetrators.

Rade Jakšić, head of the Osmaci Municipal War Veterans Organisation, said that the Muslim crime at Crni Vrh must not be forgotten.

"As long as we do not forget them and visit the places where they suffered, they will live with us," Jakšić added.

Deputy Mayor of Zvornik Darko Stefanović pointed to the injustice that the Prosecutor's Office and Court of BiH are committing against Serb victims and their families.

"Eleven innocent people, mostly civilians, were killed at Crni Vrh, while the judicial institutions in BiH are doing absolutely nothing, as if unarmed passengers had not been killed in an ambush," Stefanović said.

He said that the Serb people, descendants of those killed and representatives of organisations stemming from the Defensive-Patriotic War will gather at this place and point to the injustice toward the victims and their families.

A memorial service at Crni Vrh was served by the local clergy, while wreaths were laid by the families of those killed, representatives of war veterans organisations and organisations of families of fallen, captured soldiers and missing civilians from Zvornik, Osmaci and Bratunac, the Zvornik Police Administration, the Third Infantry /Republika Srpska/ Regiment, as well as representatives of Zvornik City and Osmaci Municipality.
