BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 25 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić praised everyone who helped rescue Astor the dog from a cave in Ribnik, emphasizing that a responsible attitude toward animals is part of hunting ethics and tradition.

"A big heart and great courage from our hunters in Ribnik! Hats off to Milorad, who descended into a 70-meter-deep pit to save Astor the dog," Minić wrote on X.

He praised everyone who took part in the rescue, especially young Uroš Davidović.

"For us hunters, a dog is both a friend and an ally. It is an unbreakable bond built on trust," Minić emphasized.

He added that hunters show their love for animals by providing supplementary feed, introducing game animals into hunting grounds, caring for their habitats and preserving the balance of nature.

"Responsible treatment of animals is part of the hunting ethics and tradition we uphold. I am proud of people like these," Minić said.

Milorad Smiljanić, head of the Ribnik hunting section, descended into a 70-meter-deep cave near Vučija Poljana, in the municipality of Ribnik, to rescue Astor, a hunting dog that had fallen into it.
