BAN GATHERING OF UNITS THAT FOUGHT AGAINST SERB PEOPLE

BANJA LUKA, MARCH 13 /SRNA/ - The Veterans' Organization of the Special Police Brigade of the Ministry of the Interior of Republika Srpska called for a ban on the gathering in Modran near Derventa of units that acted against the Serb people, particularly the lineup of units with Ustasha symbols, warning that they are ready to prevent it personally.

"We believe that any public gathering of units that in the past acted against the Serb people, especially the lineup of units displaying Ustasha symbols, represents an unacceptable, provocative act and a direct violation of the dignity of war victims, veterans, and citizens of Republika Srpska," says a press release.

The Veterans’ Organization of the Special Police Brigade expressed its strongest protest regarding media announcements about the planned lineup of the 103rd HVO Brigade in Modran near Derventa, on the territory of Republika Srpska.

It called on the city of Derventa to refuse to issue a permit for the planned public gathering and lineup of the 103rd HVO Brigade, on the Ministry of the Interior to ban the event and take all necessary measures to prevent illegal gatherings, and on the Government to publicly distance itself from this event and ensure respect for legality and order on the territory of Republika Srpska.

Members of the Veterans' Organization of the Special Police Brigade of the Ministry of the Interior of Republika Srpska, as stated in their press release, are ready to come to Modran and prevent the holding of this provocative gathering if the institutions do not take appropriate measures.

The former special police officers stressed that such gatherings represent an open provocation, the undermining of peace and mutual trust, and a violation of the Constitution and laws of Republika Srpska.

"Although we respect the right to lay flowers, visit cemeteries, and pay tribute to the fallen, we cannot allow events to be organized on the territory of Republika Srpska that recall the crimes and the ideology that led to the suffering of the Serb people," the organization said in its press release.
