ANTONOVIĆ: CERTAIN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES WANT TO DESTABILIZE SRPSKA AND SERBIA

BANJA LUKA, APRIL 12 /SRNA/ - Research associate at the Institute of Serbian Culture from Leposavić and security expert Ratomir Antonović told SRNA that certain EU countries and Great Britain do not want peace in Ukraine, and that the current situation reflects negatively on Republika Srpska and Serbia, stating that the time has come to finally talk about ending the conflict on European soil.

"We had hints and proposals that never saw the light of day and were rejected. Today we have a more stable situation thanks to US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin," Antonović said in SRNA podcast.

He has pointed out that Ukraine is not satisfied with this outcome, because they now need to decide whether they will meet at the table as negotiators or on the table as a country that is being negotiated about by others.

"Ukraine has turned to its closest allies, which is the EU. We have witnessed that certain countries are considering sending their forces to Ukraine," said Antonović.

He has warned that, regardless of positive steps, there are parties who do not want peace and prolong the end of the conflict, pointing out that Great Britain, although it formally left the EU, retained the levers of power in the European continent.

"Today we witness the active participation of the British prime minister, who attends meetings of EU member states’ officials. This time, Britain is the one who instigates the belligerent moment, and we know that Britain is there when the prey need to be shared. It was world’s main vulture, which sensed interesting sharing in Ukraine," said Antonović.

He says that everything that happens in the world’s political arena has direct consequences on the processes in Republika Srpska and Serbia.

"This is the tendency of those who want to further destabilize the Serb people and to use this difficult international moment where the entire public is focused on Ukraine and the Gaza Strip. Someone using this difficult situation is trying to take advantage of the moment here," Antonović said in SRNA podcast.
