ANNA LIERMANN DECLARED PERSONA NON GRATA, ORDERED TO BE ESCORTED FROM SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, APRIL 4 /SRNA/ - Today, the Government of Republika Srpska declared the German Minister for European Affairs and Climate, Anna Liermann, persona non grata in Republika Srpska, and ordered the Ministry of Internal Affairs to escort her out of the border upon entering the territory of Republika Srpska.

At the telephone session, the government reached a conclusion expressing its protest over the unilateral and politically motivated measures that, without a transparent legal basis and with disregard for the principle of impartiality, were undertaken by certain German officials, including Liermann, in the form of imposing sanctions on the President of Republika Srpska, the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the National Assembly.

The government considers these measures, as well as public appearances and today's visit to Republika Srpska by Liermann, to be direct interference in internal affairs and a violation of international conventions, the Government Bureau for Public Relations announced.

In order to protect the political and institutional integrity of Republika Srpska, the Government introduces reciprocal measures, which represent a proportional and legitimate response in accordance with international practices, and declares Liermann persona non grata in Republika Srpska.

The Government will inform the National Assembly of Republika Srpska about this decision.

Today in Banja Luka, Liermann was supposed to hold a meeting with the head of the Club of PDP deputies in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Igor Crnadak, but it was canceled after she was declared an undesirable person.
