AGREEMENT SIGNED WITH SERB ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND ARTS ON JOINT MONOGRAPH ABOUT SRETEN STOJANOVIĆ

PRIJEDOR, OCTOBER 23 /SRNA/ – The Serb Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) and the City of Prijedor have signed an agreement in Belgrade formalizing their cooperation on the joint publication of a monograph about academic sculptor Sreten Stojanović, one of the most prominent Serb and Yugoslav artists.

The author of the monograph is Vera Grujić, senior curator of the National Museum of Serbia, while the editor is Professor Mladenko Sadžak. The working title of the publication is “Sreten Stojanović – The Scent of Homeland.”

The monograph will be published as part of the “Special Editions” series of the SANU Presidency and within the “Memories” edition of the “Kozara Literary Encounters”.

The acting head of the City Department for Culture, International Cooperation, Sports and Non-Governmental Organizations, Aleksandar Milješić, said that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the death of Sreten Stojanović, a native of Prijedor and one of the greatest and most renowned Serbian sculptors.

“For that reason exactly, we are especially pleased to have the opportunity to produce such a monograph that brings together all of his works and creations, on 420 color pages in a larger format edition. It is truly a respectable publication, and many cultural institutions in Republika Srpska and Serbia have already expressed interest in its promotion,” Milješić emphasized.

The publication will be printed in 600 copies, half of which (300) will belong to the City of Prijedor, and the other half to SANU, the City Administration of Prijedor announced.

The promotion of the monograph will be held first at SANU in Belgrade, and later in Prijedor.
