957 NEW APARTMENTS SOLD IN FIRST QUARTER, RECORD NUMBER SINCE 2016

BANJA LUKA, MAY 11 /SRNA/ - In the first quarter of this year, 957 new apartments were sold in Republika Srpska, 80.9 percent more than in the same period last year, which is the highest number since 2016 - since the Republika Srpska Institute for Statistics has been collecting data.

Institute said that purchase and sale and postponement of the construction completion date from the end of 2025 to the beginning of this year are among the reasons for the increase.

The average price of new apartments in the first quarter was 2,882 KM per square meter, down 6.4 percent compared to the same period last year, the Institute for Statistics announced.

The statement added that the average price of new apartments in Republika Srpska in the first quarter was formed based on data for 18 cities/municipalities in which sales were recorded, and for the first time in Kostajnica.

The Institute states that the price per square meter of a new apartment in Banja Luka and Trebinje exceeded 3,000 KM.

The total value of new apartments sold amounted to BAM 146.4 million, of which construction investors collected the most in Banja Luka - more than BAM 40 million, or 27.3 percent of the total amount in Republika Srpska.

The average size of new apartments sold is 53 square meters.

The most apartments were sold in Banja Luka - 189 at an average price of BAM 3,881 per square meter, followed by 118 apartments in Prnjavor at an average price of BAM 2,174 per square meter, and 94 apartments in Trebinje at an average price of BAM 4,577 per square meter.

In Prijedor, 89 apartments were sold at an average price of BAM 2,711 per square meter, and in Istocna Ilidža 87 apartments at an average price of BAM 2,436 per square meter.
