DOBOJ, JUNE 21 /SRNA/ – A total of 23 testimonies have so far been recorded in Doboj from individuals who tragically lost family members during the Defensive-Patriotic War. These video testimonies have been preserved as part of a project for a multimedia museum launched by the Public Institution Memorial Center of Republika Srpska, with the support of the City Administration.
The president of the City Organization of Families of Captured and Fallen Soldiers and Missing Civilians, Igor Filipović, told SRNA that the first video was recorded on June 2 with the testimony of Ružica Pejić from Vozuća, who lost 12 family members during the war.
Filipović stated that, so far, 23 people have shared their tragic experiences out of a total of 1,400 families of fallen and captured soldiers and missing civilians from the Doboj area.
He added that the project is progressing rapidly, given that only about 300 parents are still alive and most are over the age of seventy.
Filipović explained that this is a unique project aimed at ensuring that victims are not remembered solely as names and numbers, but that their existence and stories are preserved through video recordings.
“It is important that the descendants of the victims, at some point in their lives, have the opportunity to watch these recordings and hear the living words, so they can form a picture of what happened, how, and when,” Filipović emphasized.
