BELGRADE, OCTOBER 25 /SRNA/ - Aleksandar Vučić, head of the United Serbia electoral list, said tonight that the Student List had won Serbia’s snap parliamentary elections.
Speaking at a press conference at the Serbian Progressive Party /SNS/ headquarters, Vučić said this assessment was based on a sample and that the final results were not yet available.
“It is clear that we have lost this election. The student-blockade list has won and will have 135 to 140 seats, while we will have around 105. No one else has entered parliament, except the Hungarians with three seats and one Albanian and the SDA. We have 1.72 million votes, while they have around 2.2 million,” Vučić said.
He added that the United Serbia list had won everywhere Serbs live, including Republika Srpska, Kosovo and Metohija, and North Macedonia.
In the snap parliamentary elections, voters elected the new 250-member National Assembly from among 18 electoral lists, nine of which represented national minorities.
A total of 6,451,292 voters were eligible to vote, with 8,392 polling stations available.
Of the total number of polling stations, 93 were located abroad in 37 countries, including 28 in BiH. Another 29 polling stations were set up in correctional facilities, while 60 polling stations were designated in Vranje, Kuršumlija, Raška and Tutin for voters from Kosovo and Metohija.
