BELGRADE, NOVEMBER 2 /SRNA/ – Aleksandar Vučić, head of the United Serbia electoral list, expressed hope that Serbia’s new authorities would demonstrate greater commitment to Serbs living in the region, as well as a better understanding of Serb people’s position in Kosovo and Metohija.
Vučić pointed out that Serbia’s new authorities will have to establish decent relations with the leadership of Republika Srpska.
“There will never be too much trust between them, but that is not essential. It is enough for them to maintain decent, normal and good relations. I will always support them in that,” Vučić said.
He stated that his electoral list will not obstruct the work of the National Assembly of Serbia and will take part in parliamentary proceedings, unless the SNS and the electoral list decide otherwise.
“Our goal is to explain to people what we believe in and what we do, and what I believe people recognise in us as a source of stability. These things will gradually, but certainly, return,” Vučić told TV Prva.
Vučić believes that the SNS has no reason to participate in the presidential election under conditions of a campaign of persecution, but whether this would be the final decision will be considered, stressing that such a possibility remained open.
“I did not say that we would not have a candidate. I said that, under these circumstances, we have no reason whatsoever to take part in a farce. But whether that will be the final decision remains to be seen. Under such circumstances, you can take part on your own. Let your satellites come forward, along with anyone else who wants to,” Vučić said.
