BELGRADE, MAY 21 /SRNA/ – Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić met today in Belgrade with Efraim Zuroff, Director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, to discuss next steps in preserving the memory of the victims of the Nazi regime.
"Today I had the honor of speaking with Efraim Zuroff, the last living Nazi hunter. Dr. Zuroff, a tireless advocate for truth and justice, never gave up – even when silence would have been easier. His work is not just in archives and court documents; his work is in the names he restored to history, in the Holocaust victims he made visible once again," Vučić posted on Instagram.
The President of Serbia emphasized that he is proud of the strong cooperation, friendship, and shared commitment to shedding light on the crimes of World War II.
"We are grateful for everything he has done to uncover the truth about the suffering of the Serbian people in Jasenovac. While others looked away, he spoke with both knowledge and heart," Vučić said.
He added that they discussed future steps in preserving the memory of the victims of the Nazi regime.
"Serbia remains firmly committed to the fight against antisemitism, and it is our duty to preserve memory – for the sake of the past, and even more so for the future," Vučić concluded.
