BELGRADE, MARCH 30 /SRNA/ - The president of the Association of Serbs from the region, Miodrag Linta, assessed that the attack on four students from Novi Sad proves that Sarajevo is dominated by anti-Serb hysteria, which is primarily created by Bosniak politicians and the media.
Linta pointed out that the hate crime, which was committed on the night between Friday and Saturday in Sarajevo, is just one such example.
"Young Bosniaks grow up hating Serbs because they listen to the most blatant lies about Serbian aggression, about the siege of Sarajevo, about the genocide that Serbs committed against Bosniaks, and Serbia was supposedly an accomplice," Linta said in a statement.
He said that the authorities in Sarajevo Canton have the obligation to bring those responsible to justice and punish them accordingly.
However, as he assessed, there is little chance that all the perpetrators will be identified and especially that they will be punished the most severely, if you take into account the fact that there have been attacks on Serbs in Sarajevo before, but no one was sanctioned.
"It will be a clear message that physical and verbal violence against Serbs is something that is completely normal, even desirable," warned Linta.
Three male and one female students, who were on a student exchange, were attacked in front of the Youth Theater in Sarajevo.
Attackers with batons and metal rods pounced on the young residents of Novi Sad and beat them for no reason.
