BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 10 /SRNA/ - Every call for the abolition of Republika Srpska is a direct blow to the foundations of peace,” said Miodrag Linta, president of the Alliance of Serbs from the Region.

Linta said that the statement by the Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez, that the international community should withdraw its signature from the Dayton Peace Agreement, and that “Bosniaks know what they need to do,” represents a dangerous warmongering message and a serious threat to peace and stability in BiH.

“It is absolutely scandalous and unacceptable for Helez to call Republika Srpska a ‘genocidal para-state entity’, thereby further confirming his policy of denying Republika Srpska and calling into question the constitutional order of BiH and the Dayton Peace Agreement,” Linta stressed.

He called on the international community to unequivocally condemn such dangerous rhetoric and to tell Helez and his like-minded people to stop issuing threats, attempting to undermine the Dayton Peace Agreement, using hate speech and spreading fear among the peoples of BiH, the Alliance of Serbs from the Region said in a statement.

Linta stressed that Helez must understand that the Dayton Peace Agreement is not a document that can be annulled whenever it suits someone's political interests, and noted that the agreement ended the war and established the constitutional order of BiH.

“Republika Srpska is an integral part of it, and any attempt to abolish it represents a direct blow to the foundations of peace,” Linta stressed.

Linta stressed that Serbia strongly advocates peace in BiH, but that peace entails respecting the Dayton Peace Agreement and the rights of all constituent peoples.
